What is the difference between counterfeit and falsified products?
In the terminology of the Russian legal system, counterfeit products are interpreted as material objects produced, distributed or otherwise used, as well as imported with copyright infringement. Thus, counterfeit products are considered as a legal category specified in terms of judication and not connected with quality of product.
Whereas, falsified products and poor-quality goods infringe upon consumer rights and interests; substandard food products, medications, and spare parts for high-tech mechanisms pose serious threat to public health and life.
The cross-point of counterfeit and fake products is in their illegality and negative impact on the economy, market efficiency, and, consequently, quality of life for people.
