Black and grey import markets must be liquidated from the arena
“I would like to make a special emphasis on a vital issue of protection strategy for Russian manufacturers against both inflow and outflow of the counterfeit textiles. Evidently, it is nigh on impossible for our T&C sector to compete with counterfeit and smuggled goods since the domestic industry is a priori set into a disadvantageous position here.
According to the reports of the Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of Industry, total sales turnover accounts for about 50% of those items from the “shadow” network. I guess this ratio constitutes an average performance, but it goes without saying that if we analyze particular price brackets, those figures might turn higher. Therefore, the customs and law enforcement authorities are supposed to come out with effective anti-counterfeiting measures to remedy the situation. Black and grey import markets must be liquidated from the arena.”
